O.A.S.I.S… Older Adults Staying in Shape!

One of the amazing things in the Foothill area is the dedication to fitness and staying active. The choices are endless, whether it be hiking, cross country skiing, tennis, pickle ball, ping pong, classes, volleyball, fly fishing, softball, bridge… the list goes on and on. Even better, so many programs are offered with a senior discount (60+), a minimal co-pay or at no charge at all; if you are eligible to participate in the SilverSneakers® or Prime® Fitness Program. The SilverSneakers®/Prime Fitness Program

This is an innovative health, exercise and wellness program helping older adults live healthy, active lifestyles. Get fit, have fun, make friends! Ask us if you qualify for the program! Enrollments are done at the Buchanan Park and Wulf Recreation Centers any time during open hours. *SilverSneakers® Classic - formerly Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (MSROM)

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for standing support.

*SilverSneakers® Circuit - formerly Cardio Circuit

Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout.

*SilverSneakers® Cardio - formerly CardioFit

Get up and go with an aerobics class for you - safe, heart-healthy, and gentle on the joints.

*SilverSneakers® Yoga - formerly YogaStretch

Will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

*Going Strong

Bring your smiles, laughs and lots of energy for an hour of just feel good fun while conditioning your heart and strengthening your muscles using tubes, big and small balls and weights. Experience a variety of safe movements that will challenge your body while adapting to your special needs and end it all with some gentle stretching. We do use a chair but most work is done standing.

*Weight Circuit

This class will be offered in a small group format where members are instructed on using stationary and free-weight equipment properly, developing a progressive strength training regimen, and tracking progress.

Aqua Stretch and Tone - Water Walking - Vortexercise - Aqua Aerobics

What a great way to get that low impact stretch, work out a sore muscle or just laugh with your friends as you fight the vortex current.

Aqua Zumba®

Known as the Zumba “pool party,” Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. Mat Pilates

A series of stretching and strength exercises performed in a sequence to strengthen your core (abs, back, hips, and glutes). Drop In $10.00 DR $13.00 NDR (punch card available). $3.00 co-pay and card swipe for SilverSneakers® or Prime® Fitness participants.

Gentle Restorative Yoga

Restorative poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress and physical pain in several ways. Be guided by an experienced Yogini. Drop In $11.00 DR $14.00 NDR. $3.00 co-pay and card swipe for SilverSneakers® or Prime® Fitness participants.

Evergreen Pickleball

Come join us for America' s fastest growing sport. Pickleball is played similarly to tennis on smaller courts. Games can be played indoors or outdoors and as singles or doubles. Each session is open to the public at Wulf Recreation Center. For more information please click here. SilverSneakers® participants are welcome under their SilverSneakers® membership.

Ping Pong

What a great way to keep that competitive edge, work on your spin shots, work up a sweat or just practice hitting the ball. This totally fun sport is offered three days a week at BPRC. $2.50 DR $3.25 NDR. No charge to SilverSneakers® or Prime® Fitness participants.

Cultural Excursions

Join us for a series of excursions throughout Colorado! Let us do the driving while you enjoy the company of others. We are combining our Outdoor Rec Program and our excursions to provide a broader choice for our participants. Program is for adults 21 and over.
