Evergreen Park & Recreation District offers a wide variety of fitness and wellness opportunities. Our goal is to fulfill the physical needs of our patrons by providing classes that are geared for all fitness levels and abilities. Come discover and attain your hidden fitness potential in a professional, relaxed and non-pressured environment.

Insanity Shaun T’s popular and incredibly effective high-intensity cardio interval workout in a class setting at Buchanan Recreation Center! Simple cardio moves repeated in varying intensities interspersed with body weight only strength drill provides a great way to improve your fitness level and burn fat and calories. Join the insanity!

PiYo Live
A combination of Pilates and mind/body practices of Yoga, PiYo Live is an athletic workout that includes stretching, conditioning and dynamic movements. This class includes a constant flow of moves to upbeat empowering music. It will definitely get your heart rate going with the benefits of deep breathing, balance, stretching, strengthening and relaxation. Come sweat and get your blood pumping with some invigorating Piyo Live!

Turbo Kick New! Burn calories and blast fat! Turbo Kick® mixes kickboxing and simple dance moves with music that makes you want to move it! You’ll love having fun and losing weight. It won’t even seem like you’re working out. The unique Turbo Kick® movement patterns, combinations and techniques work together to give YOU the ultimate cardiovascular workout that will melt fat and reshape your body! Each full body workout consists of a sport specific warm-up, higher paced intervals, easy to follow combinations, kickboxing specific strength/endurance training and a mind/body like cool-down designed to maximize weight loss!

Zumba
You’ve seen the smiles, you’ve felt the energy - it’s Zumba! This workout combines high energy and motivating music with simple synchronized dance movements designed for any fitness level. Aerobic fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms tones and sculpts the body. Then Zumba is for you! No dance experience necessary.

Zumba Step New! Take lower body workouts and calorie burning to new heights with Zumba® Step. Tone and strengthen glutes and legs with a blend of Zumba® routines and step aerobics.

Cardiovascular and Strength Training Classes

Adult Fitness

A total body 60-minute class focusing on all areas of fitness: cardiovascular, strength, core, and functional flexibility. Exercise and intensities will progress as your fitness level progresses. Takes place at the base of the pinnacle. Location Buchanan Park Recreation Center.

Adult Modern/Jazz Dance

This class will focus on posture, balance and coordination. A great workout with fun and easy to learn moves. Go to Dance page for more info. For fees, see below.

Barre Strength

Class will consist of strength and toning using ballet based exercises. Light weights, bands, and exercise balls will be used to sculpt, tone and create long lean muscle

Bellydance - Beginning Level 1, Level 2 and Drills & Combos

Boot Camp

Want to have FUN while exercising outside? Get the optimal calorie burn, increase speed, improve coordination and stamina, increase agility and strength. Achieve your fitness goals with this high energy workout. This is a full body workout! This all-inclusive class is a MUST for your overall fitness pursuits. Join the fun and get results! All levels welcome.

New! Butts n Guts PLUS Cardio

The ultimate Cardio, Glute and Core class - tighten, firm, tone and strengthen low back, glutes, obliques and abdominal muscles. Bosu will be added for balance and complete core work.

Conditioning & Core - Coming in October

This is a whole body workout that can improve your overall fitness. A combination of weighted and resistance-based exercises, sculpting and toning-based exercises followed by core strength training is sure to deliver all-round benefits from head to toe. You’ll be better toned and physically fitter and you’ll probably feel like a "better you"!

New! Fit4Baby

Fit4Baby is a program designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy. The 60-minute class includes cardio, strength, flexibility and balance training. Fit4Baby is designed to accommodate all stages of pregnancy and various fitness levels. These classes are for mom only. For more information please call 720-956-6FIT. Note: Drop ins are available for $10. This class is NOT included in the fitness punch card or the unlimited monthly fitness pass.

Muscle Max

Strictly strength training using dumbbells, body bars, bands, Fitballs, Bosu’s and other strength modalities. No cardio intervals, but heart-pumping just the same as you take your muscles to the max.

Total Body Circuit Fusion

This class will keep you on the move! Combining resistance training, cardio, and core exercises that create a total-body transformation. All levels welcome!

Ultimate Conditioning

Advance to the next level of training. Your muscular strength and endurance will be tested when combined with cardiovascular movement. A total-body workout using H.I.T.T. training as well as TABATA that is challenging and feels like you’re working one-on-one with a private trainer. Great for all levels of fitness!

Mind/Body Classes

Mind/Body classes focus on improving your flexibility, strength, and balance while enhancing your posture, coordination, and mental focus. Yoga and Pilates classes are a great way to quiet the chatter of daily life, relieve stress, and feel great.

Adult Fitness Yoga

A 45-minute stretch for the whole body. Incorporating yoga poses, breathing, and a slow controlled stretch this class is for all levels. Improve your yoga practice or try something new!

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is a series of stretching and strength exercises performed in a sequence to strengthen your core (abs, back, hips, and glutes). This class is also available to SilverSneakers® participants for a $3 co-pay and card swipe. Location: Buchanan Park Recreation Center.

StrengthFlow Yoga – Coming in October

This class utilizes elements from Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi to build strength and flexibility, while improving your mind-body awareness to leave you feeling more calm and centered. Focused breathing combined with structured poses, moves and stretches creates a challenging class attainable for all, while rejuvenating and realigning the body to create a sense of harmony, balance and fluidity. This format strengthens your muscles and joints while increasing flexibility and range of movement to protect against injury.

Vinyasa I

This class teaches the fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga, including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures and core strengthening. Practice moving into and out of postures safely and with correct alignment. Uses the breath, learn to quiet your mind to find peace and inner stillness.

Yoga Stretch

This 60-minute class will take participants through traditional yoga poses where we take additional time to lengthen, stretch and loosen muscles. Restore body alignment and posture through a deep release and restorative approach.

New! Living a Healthful Life

Baron Baptiste, one of the world’s most beloved master yoga teachers, inspires us to transform more than body and mind. Using his “40 Days to Personal Revolution” as a guide, we will create a new way of being and living. This class will help us live the healthful life we’ve imagined. The 6-week program will include: a copy of the "40 Days to Personal Revolution" book, a yoga practice, nutrition/cooking, beginning meditation and fitness challenges as we commit to growth.

Intro to TRX Training

Pilates on TRX

Take your pilates to the next level. Challenge and strengthen your core, improve your balance, and increase flexibility using the TRX suspension system.

TRX Suspension Training

The all fitness levels TRX Suspension Training class is a 50-minute class including both a warm-up and a stretch cool-down at the end. This class is open to both “newbies” and those familiar with suspension training. All exercise selection as well as work intervals will be decided by the instructor at the time of the class based on the experience of attendees. Attendees always have the choice to modify or “intensify” the exercises to better suit their fitness needs.
