Evergreen Park & Recreation District offers a wide variety of fitness and wellness opportunities. Our goal is to fulfill the physical needs of our patrons by providing classes that are geared for all fitness levels and abilities. Come discover and attain your hidden fitness potential in a professional, relaxed and non-pressured environment.


Get fit FAST and have fun doing P90X®! This class combines a variety of exercise techniques including cardio, strength training, Yoga and Plyometrics.

PiYo Live

PiYo Live is a combination of Pilates and mind/body practices of Yoga. It consists of an athletic workout that includes stretching, conditioning and dynamic movements. This pre-designed class includes a constant flow of moves to upbeat empowering music. It will definitely get your heart rate going with the benefits of deep breathing, balance, stretching, strengthening and relaxation. Come sweat and get your blood pumping with some invigorating PiYo Live!

Pound Rock out. Work out. This group exercise class combines cardio, strength training and drumming to achieve a full-body workout. Using lightly weighted drumsticks, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective workout.


Introducing music-led interval training. With most workout programs, music is an afterthought, but the music in STRONG by Zumba™ was crafted to drive the intensity in a challenging progression that provides a total-body workout. This is NOT a dance class!

Turbo Kick Burn calories and blast fat! Turbo Kick® mixes kickboxing and simple dance moves with music that makes you want to move it! You’ll love having fun and losing weight. It won’t even seem like you’re working out. The unique Turbo Kick® movement patterns, combinations and techniques work together to give YOU the ultimate cardiovascular workout that will melt fat and reshape your body! Each full body workout consists of a sport specific warm-up, higher paced intervals, easy to follow combinations, kickboxing specific strength/endurance training and a mind/body like cool-down designed to maximize weight loss!

You’ve seen the smiles, you’ve felt the energy - it’s Zumba! This workout combines high energy and motivating music with simple synchronized dance movements designed for any fitness level. Aerobic fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms tones and sculpts the body. Then Zumba is for you! No dance experience necessary.

Cardiovascular and Strength Training Classes


From the beginner to the advanced this class combines cardio moves to get the heart pumping with a variety of core training blended in to the class to increase strength and balance.

Circuit Power Hour

This class incorporates cardio equipment, weight machines, mat work, TRX and dumbbells. Increase strength, endurance and mobility as you bend, crawl, carry, climb, hang, jump, lift, lunge, pull, push, squat and sweat!

Conditioning & Core

This is a whole body workout that can improve your overall fitness. A combination of weighted and resistance-based exercises, sculpting and toning-based exercises followed by core strength training is sure to deliver all-round benefits from head to toe. You’ll be better toned and physically fitter and you’ll probably feel like a "better you"!

Power Hour

A variety of resistance and conditioning circuits interspersed with plyometric intervals for a challenging and fun total body workout.  All levels welcome!

Pure Strength

The ultimate Cardio, Glute and Core class - tighten, firm, tone and strengthen low back, glutes, oblique’s and abdominal muscles. Bosu will be added for balance and complete core work.

Rock Steady BoxingRock Steady Boxing

In this corner: hope. Rock Steady Boxing empowers people with Parkinson’s Disease to fight back, improving quality of life through a non-contact boxing-based fitness curriculum proven to reverse, reduce and delay symptoms. Coming soon!

Strength Camp

A total-body 60-minute class focusing on all areas of fitness: cardiovascular, strength, core and functional flexibility. Exercise and intensity will progress as your fitness level progresses. Takes place at the base of the pinnacle.

Total Body Fusion

This class will keep you on the move! It combines resistance training, cardio and core exercises to create a total-body transformation. All levels welcome!

Mind/Body Classes

Mind/Body classes focus on improving your flexibility, strength, and balance while enhancing your posture, coordination, and mental focus. Yoga and Pilates classes are a great way to quiet the chatter of daily life, relieve stress, and feel great.


From the beginner and advanced this class combines cardio moves to get the heart pumping followed with a deep yoga stretch including hips, shoulders and back.

iRest™ Yoga Nidra

This is the practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that can help release negative emotions & thought patterns. Some benefits include; calming the nervous system, relief from chronic pain, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Participants are invited to dress in comfortable clothing and to bring any props that can help them rest with ease, such as pillows and blankets. This practice is appropriate for both new and long-term meditators. This class is free to any veteran or active duty military member but is also open to the general public for a $5 ½ hour class fee.

Mat Pilates & Beginner Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is a series of stretching and strength exercises performed in a sequence to strengthen your core (abs, back, hips, and glutes). This class is also available to SilverSneakers® participants for a $3 co-pay and card swipe. Location: Buchanan Park Recreation Center.

Pilates Plus+

Pilates Plus+ is a non-impact class that is easy on the joints. It enhances your overall functional fitness, core strength/stability and flexibility for longer, lean muscles. It focuses on your breathing and body placement, which improves your posture, balance, coordination and overall circulation.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a fitness-based Vinyasa practice that builds internal heat, increases stamina, strength and flexibility, and reduces stress.

Sunrise Yoga

An hour long stretch for the whole body that incorporates Yoga poses, breathing, and a slow controlled stretch. This class is for all levels. Improve your Yoga practice or try something new!


This class teaches the fundamentals of yoga, including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures and core strengthening. Practice moving into and out of postures safely and with correct alignment.

Yoga at the Barn

Join us for a relaxing evening yoga class. Participants will focus on breathing combined with structured poses, moves and stretches creating a challenging class attainable for all, while rejuvenating and realigning the body to create a sense of harmony, balance and fluidity. This format strengthens your muscles and joints while increasing flexibility and range of movement to protect against injury. Will return summer 2018. Location Alderfer Barn.

Yoga For Veterans

This free yoga meditation class is open to any veteran or active duty military member. It is designed to address the special concerns that our military personnel encounter through their service. The goal of this class is to provide more comfort in the body and ease in the mind. It can often provide a better night’s sleep, relief from chronic pain and depression, and challenges of PTSD. Each class will typically consist of 5 minutes of breath work, 45 minutes spent in physical poses of yoga and 10 minutes of guided meditation.

Multisport Conditioning

A 12-week program designed to build and maximize your fitness. This is a group which meets three times a week and focuses on strength and conditioning. Each week will include one cardio specific workout, one strength and conditioning workout and one mobility workout. Please join us for fitness, fun and friendship! The key to this program is developing friendships and meeting new people while getting fitter! Meets Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Buchanan Recreation Center at 8:30 AM. Triathlon Training


Push yourself to the next level by training for a multi-sport event with the Tri-Evergreen program. The 12-week triathlon-training program is designed by Triathlon All-American Courtney Culligan, a USA Triathlon and USA Cycling-certified coach. Three group training sessions are held each week, plus clinics on a variety of related topics, including triathlon equipment, bike maintenance, road safety, nutrition, hydration plans and transitions. Swim workouts are included, with an opportunity to train with the Masters team Tuesday/Thursday for an additional fee. Location: Buchanan Park Recreation Center.

TR-XTRA Gentle

Never tried TRX before? This is a half an hour workout designed to introduce you to TRX but also to gently move you through a workout using Suspension Training. Great for beginners and SilverSneakers®! This class is available to SilverSneakers® participants for a $3 co-pay & card swipe.

TRX Suspension Training

The TRX Suspension Training class for all fitness levels is a 50-minute class including a warm-up and a stretch cool-down. This class is open to both “newbies” and those familiar with suspension training. Exercise selection and work intervals will be decided by the instructor based on the experience of attendees. Participants can modify or intensify exercises as needed.
