Due to the popularity of skating, parking is very limited at the Lake House parking lot. Look for Shuttle Service during peak hours on Sat, Sun, and Holidays from 11 - 5 PM. Shuttle runs from the Wulf Rec Center at 5300 Olive Road ONLY when the Evergreen Lake parking lot is full. Get directions online at www.evergreenrecreation.com. The Dedisse parking lot on the north side of the lake is also available.
Private Boats
Private boats are allowed on the lake 7 days a week. Please check in with boat rental staff prior to launching your boat. All boats must stay within the boundaries set by the lake staff and abide by all lake rules. Gas powered engines are not allowed, only electric trolling motors are permitted. Life jackets are required. (Life jackets may be rented at boat rental for $5 per use.) Private boaters may load and unload on the lake frontage road, but parking on the frontage road is strictly prohibited. The frontage road will be unavailable for use during large community events (such as the 4th of July celebration and the summer concert series.)
Fishing at Evergreen Lake
Hours are from sunrise to sunset. A Colorado fishing license is required. Fishing licenses are available at the Evergreen Safeway. For exact prices you can check the Colorado Division of Wildlife Website. All state laws must be obeyed. The lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout. Information on stocking dates may be obtained on the Division of Wildlife stocking report page. All legal live and artificial baits may be used in the Lake, no live minnows. The Lake House does not sell fishing licenses. Bait will be available at boat rental. Fishing is not allowed around the Lake House. Exception: those using pier for handicap access.
Facility Rental
One of the most popular uses of the Evergreen Lake House is its availability for rental for both private and public events. The facility is available from April to Mid-November. Many beautiful weddings have been held at the Lake House and numerous public events take place throughout the year. For more information please click here.
The Evergreen Lake Trail
The Evergreen Lake Trail, a natural surface trail for walking and jogging encircles the entire lake, is 1.3 miles long. Please note: sections of the lake trail are not conducive to wheel chair and stroller use and are not ADA compliant. Leash laws are enforced for trail and park. Please be courteous and PICK UP AFTER YOUR PETS for other trail/park users.
The Old Boat House
The Old Boat House, built in the 1930's and located on the south side of Evergreen Lake was partially burned in 1993 and was renovated in a 3-phase project, paid for in part by a State Historical Fund Grant from the Colorado Historical Society and a Conservation Trust Fund Grant from Jefferson County Open Space. The project was completed March 20, 2007. The Boat House is used for the District's boating program and during the winter the "warming hut" is used for reserved events.
In May, 2008; the Evergreen Nature Center provided an experiential learning environment that created awareness and appreciation of our diverse mountain community environment by improving the understanding of the Lake's natural environments and enhanced enjoyment of Evergreen Lake.
