Mad Science delivers a unique, hands-on science experiences for children that are as entertaining as they are educational. For ages 6 to 11.
JeffCo School SpringBreak is March 29, 2020 through April 2, 2020. We are offering the following classes during Spring Break. Full and Half Day camps available.
Bubbling Beakers
Explore a whimsical world of molecules and magic with bubbling beakers and all kinds of radical reactions in this exciting chemistry-themed camp! Prepare your own potions and all sorts of chemical concoctions to take home. Learn about the many types of chemical solutions and find out how different chemicals react when mixed together!
Imagine Art Academy- Wild World
Kids explore the wonder and beauty of the animal kingdom, and discover nature in a way that inspires empathy, curiosity, and creativity. They learn about many different animals and how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the globe. Experiment with different art techniques, and use Crayola® art materials to create frog paintings, polar bear sculptures, and more!

Summer Camp Options
Robo-Tiks-Sensors & Gears (8 to 12 years)
Investigate robotic fundamentals with curious robots, learn about the history and current field of robotics, explore robot design potential and build ingenious robots to take home.
Zap Attack and Machine Mania (6 to 11 years)
Gears, pulleys, blueprints, and more- this camp covers the exciting fields of engineering and architecture! Students work together to design complex structures, explore the inner workings of motors and machines, design their own electrical circuits and create engaging take home projects.
Zip Science with Eureka - Half Day
Inspire the inventor and scientist in you!Learn about both real and fictional inventors and how their ideas changed and shaped our world.
Imagine Arts Academy- Half Day
Discover the inspiring artworks and artists who have changed the world of art. Experiment with art techniques and use Crayola art supplies to express your ideas.

Snapology - Castles, Kingdoms, & Wizards
Who wouldn't want to escape and play in the world of magic, fairy tales, and royalty? Students will have the opportunity to use LEGO bricks to design their medieval fantasies while also bringing the real history to life! Yes, your student will do more than just build with LEGO bricks, they will build their historical understanding of the unique elements that make the medieval time period such a fascinating point in human history.
Snapology - GameBots Programming
Calling all gamers! Have a blast creating robotic games every day while learning about robotics. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, programming, and pulleys as they create fun to play games. Whether creating a robotic hockey player, pinball machine, or a ring toss, your child is sure to have fun building, learning, and playing.
Snapology - Mechanical Masterminds
Does your little learner love to tinker and create new things, or are they the kind of learner who likes to break things apart to see what’s inside? This program gives your student the tools they need to understand mechanical movement and the importance of simple machines. They will see these moving parts up-close as they follow instructions to build various machines and contraptions, then use the models to develop new design ideas, test out physics concepts, and even play games with their partners and classmates. Whether they are the creative-constructive type or prefer the inquisitive-deconstructive way of learning, this program is sure to spark their engineering interests!

Jedi/Fencing Camp
These two great camps can be combined or taken separately. These camps are for 8 to 18-year-old children.
Jedi Camp - 9 AM to Noon
Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away the Jedi Knights protected the innocent from evildoers. Now is your child’s time to join the Jedi ranks and become heroes! All participants will learn how to train their mind and body to become the greatest heroes of all time.
Jedi trainees will learn how to wield a lightsaber to fight off the evil Sith warriors and save the universe! At this camp, your child will learn how to use the lightsabers in theatrical fighting, participate in strength and agility training using various exercises and games, learn Jedi lore and history and learn how to put together a massive battle.
Fencing Camp - 1 to 4 PM
This camp is designed for participants of all skill levels. Beginner fencers will understand the fundamentals of fencing after one week of practice. Campers will learn the history of fencing, footwork and blade work (parries and ripostes). Coaches will provide level-appropriate instruction for all progressive fencers.
The program will also provide a focused and fun camp for intermediate and progressive saber fencers, offered by truly outstanding coaches. More advanced fencers will refine fundamentals, learn new techniques and develop more effective competitive strategies.
Jedi/Fencing Combo Camp - 9AM to 4 PM
This is a full day of the two classes listed above. Please bring a lunch. Camp counselors will be there to hang out with the kids. Location: Miller House.
Is your daughter ready to lead? Miss Fit Girls Leadership boot Camp has the tools to get her there. A week of challenging activities and a chance to meet other girls. Join us for yoga, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, and much more during this fun week of Boot Camp. These camps are for girls ages 12 to 16.
Leadership Boot Camp
One or two days will be at the Buchanan Recreation Center and the other days will be offsite (informed by instructor prior to camp). Dress in comfortable clothing - no jeans or flip flops. Bring a water bottle and snack.

- 9 AM to 11:30 AM
Students will develop a stronger sense of imagination, literacy, expression and communication through on camera conversations that reinforce a positive self-image. Please note: there is an hour between the two camps so if students sign up for both, students will not be supervised from Noon to 1 PM. These camps are for kids age 6 to 14 years old.
Talk to the Camera - YOUth TUBEr (6 to 11 years)
Finally, a class that gives kids the opportunity to gain the skill set, knowledge, and confidence to celebrate their individuality through YouTube video creation. Using a STEAM-based learning approach, students develop their awareness for online safety. Location: Wulf Recreation Center.
Talk to the Camera - YOUth TUBEr Plus (9 to 14 years)
Students explore their creative potential - making YouTube videos that stand-out! Using a STEAM-based learning approach, students embrace their individuality, develop their editing skills and become compelling content creators who advance their digital well-being responsibly with an awareness for online safety. Location: Wulf Recreation Center.
Harry Potter and the Lost Unicorn (6 to 14 years)
In this movie adaption, young filmmakers work together to actively engage in all aspects of a professional film set. They become directors, film crew and actors - honing their craft, building their critical thinking skills and gaining a sense of ownership. Help Harry, Ron, and Hermoine in an adventure to find the lost unicorn!
Stop Motion Animation (6 to 14 years)
Be the director and animator of your own stop motion animation film! Using your legos, drawings, or even your own stuffed animal, students build and create their very own stop motion movie. Instructors guide students in envisioning a story, writing a script, as well as set building and character creations. Students expected to bring a tablet, iPad, or smartphone for video recording.
