EPRD’s INSPIRE Program (formerly Special Needs) INcorporates opportunities for Social, Physical and Inclusive Recreational Experiences for individuals with disabilities. INSPIRE believes that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves choices for health, leisure, recreation, education, advocacy and wellness to enhance the quality of their lives.

INSPIRE Adventure Camp

INSPIRE (formerly known as Special Needs) Adventure Camp offers exciting adventures for people with disabilities, youth 5-17 (Colorado State Day Camp Licensed) and adults 18 and up. Each week has an educational adventure with a theme. INSPIRE Adventure Camp runs from 5/29 - 8/9. Visit to see the online calendar for daily schedule. Registration Information

No camp Monday, 7/1 - Friday, 7/5. A one-time annual fee (per child) of $25 is required prior to registration of one of our licensed programs. You must have an interview and turn in all forms before any activity with the District. YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR ALL CAMPS/EVENTS ONE-MONTH IN ADVANCE. To be officially registered for camp, you must complete and turn in the full registration packet. For INSPIRE Summer Camp this includes: 2019 Camp Application, Immunization Record, and Supplemental Health Statement. Rates are per child, per day. Detailed schedules for camps are available at Buchanan and Wulf Recreation Centers and are available to download from our website.

All forms must be turned in by April 1 so the nurse can write a heath care plan for each participant. A pre-registration interview with coordinator is required for new participants - no exceptions. Each child enrolled in the INSPIRE Adventure Camp must have on file the following information (these forms are packaged together in the Youth Application - INSPIRE under forms below):
1. INSPIRE Youth application
2. Parent Handbook Agreement (last page)
3. Child Health Form (signed by physician)
4. Immunization documents
5. Behavior plan (if needed)
6. Childcare Medication Authorization Forms (If your child has food allergies or needs over-the
    counter or prescription medications for any reason during camp, then you will need to complete
    medication administration forms and have them signed by a physician. Medication forms must
    be submitted prior to enrollment.

INSPIRE counselor/child ratio depends on the needs of the child. Colorado State Day Camp Licensed. Safe environment supervised by experienced recreation professionals.

General Information

Camp is offered Monday through Friday throughout the summer. from 9 AM - 4 PM, please be prompt. We will no longer provide before and after care as there were not enough participants. The staff may be able to accommodate you with private pay. Snacks are provided in the afternoon. Please bring a lunch and drink each day, as well as non-scuffing tennis shoes for use in the gym, and appropriate outdoor clothing. For specific activity information, see calendars and parent check list from the pdf forms above.

Medical paperwork is mandatory if your child requires medication. Children will be registered upon receipt of the required forms and fees (see above) unless notified.

No Refunds, Credits, or Transfers. Late pick up charge for INSPIRE Adventure Camp after 4 PM is $10 for 1-15 minutes late and another $10 for 16-30 minutes late. EPRD accepts these methods of payment: cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Field Trips

Daily camp fee includes transportation and supervision. An additional fee is charged for field trips and is shown on summer camp schedule that is available at both rec centers. Field trips will be scheduled once a week, and may change due to inclement weather

Lessons & Specialty Classes

Special Olympics Golf Team

Get into the swing of things and have fun. Learn from professionals how to play golf. Tee off at some of Colorado's finest country clubs and golf courses. Play in Special Olympics regional and state tournaments. Transportation available for camp to practice but not to clinics. Location: Evergreen Golf Course. Therapeutic Horseback Riding

Therapeutic Horseback Riding Wednesday during camp. Improves flexibility, balance, motor learning and sensory skills. Do not sign up for camp on days there are Horseback Riding. For the complete schedule, please click on the Register Online button.

What to Bring

Children need to bring a sack lunch, drink, and a water bottle. Please wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
