ADAPTIVE CLIMBING:

For people of all ages with intellectual and physical disabilities, our trained climbing wall instructors will help participants reach new heights. Climbing will help improve strength, flexibility and confidence. Adaptive climbing equipment is available. If interested, contact Maren Schreiber.

BELAYED CERTIFIED:

Belay-certified climbers are welcome any time there are no climbing classes or other EPRD programming at/around the pinnacle (Facility fee applies).

BELAY CERTIFICATION EXAM:

The certification process offers three chances to demonstrate proper belay technique. Successful completion gives participants the ability to belay without an instructor present. Belay certifications are valid for one year. Certification exams are available during any open climb session (Certification fee applies).

CLIMBING BIRTHDAY PARTIES:

Schedule your next birthday party for children 6 years and up with the climbing staff at Buchanan Park Recreation Center. Parties can accommodate up to 12 people and include 1hr of climbing with an instructor and 1hr of party room time. Prices start at $155 DR/ $194 NDR. BELAY LESSON:

Belay lessons are a one-on-one session with an instructor to learn how to safely and properly belay at our Pinnacle. This lesson is intended for those with little to no experience, or someone who hasn't been belay certified anywhere for a while. This session includes a belay certification test at the end of the lesson. Please contact Ryan Kennedy at rkennedy@eprdco.gov or 720.880.1211 to schedule a belay lesson.

Climbers

• Instructors will be available to belay during open climb hours.
• Must be at least 4 years old to boulder on the pinnacle. When climbing, the 4-year-old must weigh at least 35 pounds.
• Climbing classes, climbing parties, group/private lessons (special events) take priority over open climb hours where an instructor can belay. Meaning, if an instructor is busy with the activities listed above, people must wait for the event to conclude.
• Facility admission is required for open climb.
• Please: no sandals or crocs, no skirts, no chalk (eco balls ok).

Belay Certified Climbers

• Minimum age to become a belay certified climber is 16.
• Belayed certified climbers can climb anytime the facility is open, however; the Recreation Center staff reserves the right to close certain routes or the entire pinnacle, if other EPRD programming requires the space and/or the pinnacle itself.

Bouldering

• When bouldering; your feet may not be higher than your height.
• Available whenever the facility is open and no classes or private rentals are using the Pinnacle.
