MTB Maintenance - Tire Studding

Have a lonely mountain bike sitting in your garage or basement, silently waiting for the snow to thaw and ice to melt? Not interested in riding an indoor trainer or other fitness bike, but still have the itch to pedal outside?

Come to our Do It Yourself Mountain Bike Studded Tire Class at EPRD!

Get together in a group, get a little dirty using your hands, learn a cool practical new skill, and save yourself hundreds of dollars!

What you need to bring to class -

Find a tire (s) for your studded tire. Mountain bike tires work best, as the knobs are big enough to support a screw. Check the maximum clearance allowed by the bike’s fork and rear triangle, you will need a few extra millimeters to ensure the studs will fit safely.

Its a good idea to use a slightly smaller tire than your bikes max clearance size. IE, if your bike fits a 29 x 2.6" tire, use a 29x2.4", or 29 x 2.35" tire to ensure clearance.
