Co-Ed Clinic - Intermediate Fundamentals

Looking to ride more confidently on technical terrain?

This co-ed, 3-hour clinic is designed for riders who are ready to refine their uphill and downhill skills through focused practice and real-time coaching on the trail. The session begins with targeted skill development, followed by a guided trail ride to apply what you’ve learned in a supportive environment.

You’ll work on:

- Body Positioning: Refine your body position to maintain traction and to move with your bike

- Downhill Skills: Braking, body position, and how to safely roll drops to clear more technical sections of trail

- Uphill Skills: How to change your body position and use wheel lifts to tackle uphill obstacles

Prerequisite: You should be comfortable riding green and most blue trails. For example, you’re able to ride Evergreen Mountain or Elk Meadows without too much difficulty (you may still be walking some of the more technical sections). This is not a beginner class - please look into our co-ed MTB 101 next spring if you would like to take an intro class.

Equipment: A well-maintained mountain bike with flat or clipless pedals and functioning front and rear brakes is required. A dropper post and hydraulic disk brakes are highly recommended. Helmets are mandatory; gloves and eye protection are strongly encouraged. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need to feel comfortable on the trail.

This class will meet at the Wulf Rec Center parking lot near tennis courts.

When: Saturdays, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Wulf Rec Center

MTB 201 Women's - Intermediate Mountain Biking

Looking to feel more confident and in control on the trail?

This women-only class is designed to help you progress from beginner riding to more technical terrain in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

We'll focus on refining your body position, navigating climbs and descents more efficiently, and building the skills needed to ride with confidence and control.

You’ll learn:

- How to adjust your body position for steeper descents and more challenging climbs

- Technical uphill strategies like front wheel lifts, line choice for traction and clearance, and using momentum and gearing effectively

- How to stay balanced and in control on downhill features, including braking and body positioning

- The basics of safely rolling small drop

- Cornering skills for tighter turns and switchbacks, including leaning, bike-body separation, and sighting

Trail sessioning each week: practice specific trail features with coaching and repetition in a supportive space

Prerequisite: You should be comfortable riding green and easy blue trails, with basic experience in safe body positioning, using a dropper, shifting, braking, and cornering (from 102 or equivalent).

MTB 201 - Women's Intermediate Fundamentals - Fall 25

MTB 202 - Women's Int Technical Trail Riding - Fall 25

Ready to tackle rockier climbs, steeper features, and add more flow to your ride?

This women-only clinic builds on the intermediate skills from 201 and helps you to refine those foundations to tackle steeper and more technical trail sections with support and feedback.

You’ll learn:

- How to navigate rock gardens and combined technical features

- Different wheel lift techniques for managing larger uphill obstacles and ledges

- Uphill line choice and using body position on loose, rocky terrain

- An introduction to “dropping” downhill features, rather than rolling them

- How to pump through rolly trail features for flow and efficiency

- The basics of jumping - to start adding some air time and more fun to your ride!

Prerequisite: This class is ideal if you’ve taken 201 or are already comfortable on blue trails where you’re clearing many of the smaller technical features. You’re curious about black trails, but still walk a lot of the trickier technical parts. You should be familiar with moving your body with the bike to manage steeper uphill and downhill terrain.
