A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Hello Evergreen Community,

April was big month for your Park & Recreation District.  We won a new piece of playground equipment for the future Buchanan Park Adventure Playground, thanks to your votes!  We broke ground on your new pool addition at Buchanan Park.  The Board approved the placement and purchase of new picnic shelters in Buchanan Park, which will be installed as park progress develops.  The Michael E. McGoldrick Foundation combined Michael’s love of music and fishing in Bear Creek by stepping-up as our naming sponsor for our new pavilion in Buchanan Park, Bear Creek Pavilion presented by the Michael E. McGoldrick Foundation.  The official ground breaking will be at our first summer concert on June 10th at Buchanan Park.  All community engagement workshops have been completed for the All Wheels Park, and the project is moving forward into construction planning.  We have a new gym/fieldhouse slated for the district and user groups are being engaged with public meetings this summer.  Our Earth Day Clean-up took place under blue skies, down at the lake, with over 50 volunteers.  More than 10 full bags of trash were collected, and the lake, park and surrounding trails are clean and ready for community enjoyment.  Thank you to everyone who participated. 
All these new projects bring a lot of equipment and construction zones to the parks.  Feel free to come check on our progress, we just ask that you stay on marked paths and out of our construction zones, for your safety.

    Look for our 6-week line dancing course coming in April, Classic Movie Fridays, Spring Clothing Drive, Lunch Club, Friends on Foot Walking Club, and MORE!  All programming can be found on the Active Adults Calendar.
